Anna Butterss hails from Adelaide, Australia, emigrating to the United States to pursue graduate studies in jazz bass at Indiana University. Upon receiving her Master’s degree at IU, Anna moved west to Los Angeles, where she has become a staple in the burgeoning youth movement in jazz. Anna can be heard in many creative jazz and rock bands, including Snow Nerds and Serotonin, and she performs regularly with a healthy mix of established artists and provocative newcomers, including Jeff Parker, Jay Bellarose, Dan Rosenbloom, Matt Mayhall, Gregory Uhlmann, Josh Johnson, Christian Euman, Daniel Rotem, Josh Nelson, Dan Schnelle, Ted Case, and Ethan Sherman.
Daniel Aaron Rosenboom (b. 5/7/1982) is a creative and prolific trumpet artist, composer, producer, and Los Angeles studio musician. Hailed as a “phenomenon” by the Los Angeles Times, he has been recognized with grants and awards from ASCAP, the Yvar Mikhashoff Trust for New Music, the American Composers Forum, and the Meet the Composer foundation, and has been featured on renowned stages and festivals around the world, from the Monterey Jazz Festival to Madison Square Garden, the Hammersmith Apollo, and the Hollywood Bowl.
Rosenboom has released eight full-length albums under his own name. His most recent album, Book of Storms, was released on Orenda Records in December of 2015. In 2015, he launched a new quartet project, Burning Ghosts, who's debut album was released in May 2016. Additionally, he has released three full-length albums with his “hardcore-Balkan-jazz-rock” group PLOTZ!, four full-length albums with his “spontaneous composition” jazz-rock group DR. MiNT, and has appeared as a featured collaborator on albums by Vinny Golia, Anthony Wilson, Harris Eisenstadt, Kubilay Üner, the Jon Armstrong Jazz Orchestra, Jose Gurria-Cardenas's Gurrisonic Orchestra, Trevor Anderies, Dorian Wood, David Rosenboom, RootSystem, Geoff Gallegos’s NineNet, Killsonic, Got Monk?, Orkestar Mézé, and the Industrial Jazz Group.
Daniel plays regularly with The Daniel Rosenboom Quintet, Burning Ghosts, PLOTZ!, and the Modern Brass Quintet, and has twice toured the world as multi-platinum pop singer Josh Groban's trumpet soloist. He has appeared as a featured artist and collaborator on such renowned international festivals as the Monterey, Angel City, Saalfelden and Hague Jazz Festivals, and at many more prestigious stages and institutions. Daniel also records for motion pictures, television, and video games, and can be heard on such notable titles as Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens, The BFG, X-Men: Apocalypse, The Good Dinosaur, Goosebumps, Creed, Godzilla, Spider-Man 2, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Minions and Despicable Me 2, The Lone Ranger, A Million Ways to Die in the West, The Maze Runner, Big Hero 6 and many more. As a classical free-lance musician and noted interpreter of modern and avant-garde music, he has performed with some of the elite groups and musicians in Los Angeles, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Monday Evening Concerts, Southwest Chamber Music, the Long Beach Opera, and many others.
In January of 2014, he founded the independent record label, Orenda Records, in an effort to promote his community of like-minded musicians in Los Angeles and beyond.
